I'm running a local outdoor event and would like to offer my customers a Tiffin Kitchen picnic. Will you come?

How much food should I order?

All our picnics are served in five-tier tiffin tins and, unless otherwise stated, contain enough food for two people. Each picnic comes with a complementary bread basket and we might throw in some extra treats too, just coz we're nice. Drinks and desserts are ordered separately and you can also order extra items from our deli and side dishes section, if you're expecting an extra guest or you're just really hungry.

Do you sell tickets?

Not yet! We are looking in to how we can team up with events to sell tickets through our website. In the meantime, please make sure you have secured tickets for your event before you order your picnic - or you may find you have to eat it in the car park or outside!

What are tiffin tins?

Tiffin tins are stacked bowls that clip together to form a tower with a handle at the top. Traditionally used to serve lunch to workers in India, delivery boys, or dabbawalas take the tins to the shops and offices at lunchtime. Once the food is eaten, the tin is returned for refilling. Here at the tiffin kitchen we have borrowed that concept and applied it to the British picnic.

What about your other packaging?

Our tiffin tins are made of durable stainless steel so they can be re-used again and again negating the need for lots of wasteful packaging. Any disposable packaging we do use is from sustainable sources. Return your rubbish to us at the end of the event and we will re-use what we can and dispose of what we can't with care.

How does it work?

Once you have ordered your picnic online, or over the phone, just sit back and take it easy. We deliver the picnic to you at the event and collect the empty tins and waste from you at the end.

Can I keep my tiffin tin?

Yes! Tiffin tins are great for family picnics and packed lunches. We are selling our tiffin tins for just £12 each. Just select Buy your tiffin tin when ordering your picnic. You may even buy more tins than you've ordered - we'll just make sure we bring some extras along on the day. Alternatively, if you decide you'd like to keep your tin at the end of the event, you can pay us then and there.

Do I need to bring plates etc?

We provide all the crockery, cutlery, glassware and serviettes you'll need to enjoy your picnic.

How early should I place my order?

To ensure that all our picnics are top quality, the number of picnics we can provide for each event is currently strictly limited. We are working hard to expand our operations but in the meantime, to avoid disappointment, please order early. In any case, online ordering closes three days before the event occurs. If you miss this deadline, don't despair! Simply call us on 07795 007792 and we'll do our best to help.

I have an allergy - can you cater for me?

Life is hard enough when you have an allergy. Please tell us when you place your order and we will do our very best to accommodate your requirements. However the legal eagles require that we remind you that our food is prepared in a kitchen where nuts are used so we cannot guarantee that your meal will be utterly nut-free. Please note however that our wonderful dessert alchemist, Sarah, has a nut allergy herself and prepares all our nut-free desserts in a kitchen where no nuts are used.

Yes! We'd love to help make your party, picnic or meeting unique and memorable - so let's talk! My local event isn't listed on your website. Can I still order a picnic?

We are a small, new company and this year we are continuing to focus on just a few events to enable us to concentrate on bringing you the highest quality, most delicious foods. If your event's not listed this is because we are not delivering there yet. But do not despair! If you are attending an event you think we should know about, or if you are a big group or have a special catering requirement, please contact us and we'll do our best to help.
